Spirit of Renewal and Re-creation – an introduction to Lectio Divina and sacred movement
In this nourishing and inspiring three hour workshop, we will celebrate the spirit of renewal, recreation and hope. This is an all-levels, all faiths, all practices workshop.
We will begin with a short discussion focusing on renewal and the possibility and promise of Spring, especially touching on the dark and difficult times we are navigating together.
We will then learn a beautiful, simple practice from Christian mysticism called Lectio Divina, a way to enter into sacred scripture. We will use a variety of sacred texts and poetry including contemporary poets like Mary Oliver and Wendell Berry.
Following this experiential and creative practice, we will finish with a gentle, nourishing all levels movement class, and a deep savasana – letting go of old patterns, identities and fears and awakening to new perspective and faith in the sacred unfolding of our own lives – individually and collectively.
