La Ermita Center for Conscious Living and Dying is a sacred space dedicated to community healing and collective care based in the tiny town that Molly calls home in coastal Mexico. Built as a continuation of the foundational values of the Samarya Center, the community Molly founded and stewarded for 15 years in Seattle, La Ermita offers an opportunity to step outside of day to day life and experience a wholly different environment.

La Ermita—which means “The Hermitage” — invites all who enter to benefit from the intentionality of a place designed specifically to provide refuge. We maintain the experience of a sanctuary by asking all who enter to remove their shoes and lower their voices as they cross the threshold, and to maintain a quiet, intentional energy in the main hall and garden areas.

In addition to the safe haven and equanimity enjoyed simply in the beauty of the building and grounds, La Ermita hosts individual therapy sessions, meditation groups, yoga classes and events and workshops related to community building and collective care, all offered in Spanish and English.

La Ermita was built as an homage to Molly’s beloved sister Erin, and is the physical location from which Molly offers an all volunteer end of life care program for the local community. It also provides free and low cost support for those in need of services but without the means to contribute financially.
