Ducks in a row? Let’s take the ick factor out of planning for death.
Nov

to Dec 13

Ducks in a row? Let’s take the ick factor out of planning for death.

Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about, or much less, planning our own deaths.

But the “end well” and “Death Cafe” movements are growing and we are recognizing now more than ever the need to talk about death and dying, to plan for our own deaths, and to begin getting our ducks in a row. The more we do in terms of planning, the easier it will be on the people around us who will need to take care of our affairs once we have died.

In this monthlong series, we will have four 90 minute sessions in which we can talk about our own ideas, plans and questions, and most of all, begin to create some basic informal documents that help us to gather our thoughts, put some plans and wishes in writing, and to take the ickiness out of talking about death and dying.

This will be an uplifting and very practical series. This is for ANYONE who ever plans on dying.

$180, $150 if registered by November 10.

Zoom link will be provided upon receipt of payment.

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Ignatian Spirituality ~ live at Aditi Yoga in Seattle

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Ignatian Spirituality ~ live at Aditi Yoga in Seattle

Many of us might think there is no relationship between Christianity and Yoga, and yet, the more I study, the more I find that the responses to our deepest human questionings are often the same, couched in different language and different practices. The Rules of Discernment, written in the early 1500’s, are completely consistent with Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra.

In this three hour workshop, we will learn about the rules of discernment, and how they can add a depth and clarity to our thinking, to our faith practices and ultimately to our experience of peace, resting in “our own true nature.” This is an exciting, interactive and inspiring workshop where we explore the overlap of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Saint Ignatius’ rules for spiritual development in our movement towards our own true nature.

All are welcome, of any or no faith, and all will benefit, especially those interested in the intersection of various faith traditions and in creating a greater capacity for understanding multi-faith perspectives.

Finding our Compass through the four Purusharthas ~ The Aims of Human Life according to Hindu Philosophy ~ live at Aditi Yoga in Seattle

The Purusharthas can be translated in Sanskrit as the “goals of human existence” or “the soul’s purpose.”

In this engaging three hour workshop we will learn about these four aims, how we can connect them to our lives now, and what we might be able to do to set ourselves on a more steady course towards their attainment. We will spend time talking, in silent contemplation, journaling and creating simple art that reflects our desires and illuminates a pathway to greater ease and freedom.

This class is great for yoga teachers wanting to know more about Vedanta, yoga students wanting to better understand their practice, and anyone who would benefit from some focused time for reflection and recalibration.

This class will include 45 mins - hour of light asana.

Connecting to our hearts and each other through singing/chanting ~ live at Aditi Yoga in Seattle

Connecting to our hearts and each other through singing/chanting ~ live at Aditi Yoga in Seattle

Molly has been singing and chanting in some way for as long as she can remember. Coming from a family that sang together and even has a family songbook, she went on to sing in school productions, later in bands, and even later, in kirtan and chanting practices.

This workshop is not about having a "good" voice, being "able to sing" or learning specific vocal exercises. This workshop is about finding power and connection through chanting and singing, about learning to listen, learning how to create a safe and reliable ground through our voices, and learning to explore outside of our comfort zone, knowing we will always be held, knowing we can always go "home."

This is a powerful, joyful experience for anyone. Singing or chanting experience is not necessary, All voices radically welcomed.
